Who Still Gets Their Hair Cut By A Barber?

Operating a quality barber shop involves knowing how to cut hair in a variety of ways, being able to make each customer feel comfortable and welcomed, and having the right barber equipment. Since barber shops only perform basic hair cut needs as well as some shaving and facial hair trimming, there isn’t nearly as many supplies needed to operate at there is for a beauty shop.

A good barber is able to provide them with a comb to get it the right way they like it before the go back to the routine for the day. Offering a quality hair gel is a nice touch as well. A good barber needs to provide a tight fitting cape as well to prevent the customer from getting hair all over their clothing.

Since these types of items touch the skin and scalp of the customer, it is very important to have a sanitation center set up. In most cases this is a liquid germicide that the used equipment is placed into and allowed to soak.

Shaving cream that won’t burn or irritate most skin types is needed to provide a quality shave. The barber also has to have a clean, sharp blade while performing any type of shaving or trimming.

While all of this is going on, the customer needs to be accessible as well as comfortable. It is important to have good quality barber chairs for them to sit in. They should recline in the back, swivel, have a soft cushion, and offer a foot rest. For sanitary reasons a barber should keep a broom and towel handy so that the barber chair can be wiped off and the floor can be swept quickly before the next customer is taken care of.
