Market Wrap Up (TAXS, RNN, MSSR, SMNG, PTEK)

Today Wall Street extended its losses for the third straight day, with the DOW crashing 1,000 points at around 3:00. The Euro fell to a new 14 -month low and oil fell $2.28 to $77.69 putting pressure on commodities across the board. 

 
Greece continues to plague Wall Street, with many analysts forecasting a no-win scenario in the future, and even predicting current events as the first domino to the termination of the Euro. Jobless claims were down to 444,000 this week although, they fell short of Wall Street's estimate of 440,000.
Both our Micro and Nano Cap Indices fell between 1 and 2%. In our Micro Cap Index, TaxMasters Inc. (TAXS) finished up .08 or 11%, the company filed its 8-k form this Monday and has released no further press since April 29th when Patrick Cox, president visited U.S. Troops in Iraq. Rexahn Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (RNN) news. On the downside, McCormick and Schmicks, MSSR closed at 9.14 down 1.05 or .30 after releasing mediocre quarterly results which were covered here
Our Nano Cap Index was headed by Strategic Mining Corporation (SMNG) who closed up 8.33% on a volume of 54k after announcing a move to the Bulletin Board along with a Form 10 submission and audited Financials. Finally, PokerTek, symbol PTEK  finished down .18 or 14% after announcing quarterly results earlier this week. The company has experienced very positive stock movement, but appears to have sold off today along with the rest of the market.
