Take a moment, to think about this. Take a person that plays guitar well and is recognized by his family and friends. The other individual that doesn't play guitar can be a better guitar player, and is able to see much deeper into the guitar than the good guitarist.  Amazing, but it is true.

With all the different  types of intelligent traits in people,  we all look at learning with our own personal traits, or strong ways we relate and communicate. The good player in this example looks at the guitar from a logical - intelligent point of view.  The individual that doest play the guitar who has the potential of being better is looking at it from a spacial and perspective manner, or point of view.

Now here comes the amazing part. I just want to skim the surface on this. In the process of learning we have around 8 different ways or so people in the world learn.  A lot of teachers don't realize what the students natural way of learning is before they even start lessons in the first month.

For example. When a advanced music teacher,  knows what the students way of learning naturally is, the music teacher.  will start to see confidence in the student. The tutor will start to shape the building blocks of teaching to learn the guitar in the way they progress fast. In this example  lets say the student has a logical - mathematical attitude.  this student is very perceptive and comfortable at learning the guitar with this perspective.

When the teacher feels it is time to give the student a little taste of one of the other 8 different ways of learning. It may be teaching the student the way of learning with more of an interpersonal perspective.  This is a more soulful, sensitivity feelings, and mood evoking type of learning. At first it will be hard for the student, but slowly the teacher introduces little interpersonal perspectives to the student to evaluate his or her learning process. You can lead a hoarse to water but you cant make him drink.
The teacher would go slow at first and make easy exercises and ways to play with expression.

The beautiful thing to remember about learning music is when the student is taught in his natural way of learning, he or she will learn confidence, and feel good about his or her achievements.  At some time in life we all cant get through life looking at learning and communicating in just one of the 8 singular ways.  This is why music lessons is so good.  It can rub off on to the students living and communication skills in life, with the aid of a good, music teacher. It doesn't always work out this way.  Some students get better at looking at music and life with the different ways of learning. Others will look at learning it the first way of learning and they are attached mainly to their first personal way, and there is nothing wrong with this.

Just a quick note. Some very advanced musicians will go to a teacher and he will  assess the student.  He will find they learn in a very creative way. Which is one side of the brain.  It is the Right-brain. Or some students naturally enjoy learning Left-Brain for analytical and intellectual.
