Quartz Worktops - Quartz worktops, very much different from Solid worktops

Quartz worktops have a better heat resistance ability than solid surfaces but protection boards should be used on all these surfaces and hot items should never be placed directly on these surface. If a salesperson is giving you that information about its heat resistant surface, he is actually doing a fraud. /Further, solid surfaces offer seamless joints whereas joints in Quartz are quite visible.

Quartz worktops have a decent scratch resistance power as compared to solid surface worktops. Quartz worktops also have a glossy finish unless honed whereas solid surface worktops have a matte finish. Quartz Worktops are the modern materials which are being used by many people mostly in renovating and redesigning their kitchen. It is a composition of Quartz and Resin producing a very hard wearing surface, which is more than capable of withstanding most of the impacts caused by daily use, whereas solid surface worktops can be thermoformed and are more versatile when it comes to shaping and curves. There are very few limits on any style of design

Quality Solid Surface worktops can only truly be defined as those of greater thickness such as Corian, Apollo Slab, HiMacs and Staron bespoke and Swanstone bespoke. Examples of Quartz surfaces are Apollo, Zodiac, Silestone,Prestige Quartz,Caesarstone, Luxore, Arenastone, Compaq and Cimstone and are made on a Breton Machine

Most of the quartz worktops are non porous and stain resistant, so there is hardly any surface sealing or maintenance. They have a wider range of colors as compared to solid surface worktops stones, like light gray or vivid Reds / Blues / Green's. It is not cheap but quite affordable at about 75% of the cost of Granite.
