Types of Tooth Whitening
There are two basic options for smile whitening:

You use a retainer-like object and place the gel inside the retainer or on your teeth (the gel contains the peroxides). Then place the retainer on your teeth and leave for 10 to 20 minutes. This procedure is very simple and you must continue the method often for 15 days to one month for best results.This teeth whitening method is the most common, and is relatively cheap at approximately $20 - $60 with effects lasting up to a couple of months. However you can ask your dentist if you want a higher concentration of peroxides that you cannot buy over the counter, and he/she will do them for you in a similar fashion.
There are other things available in the market too as –
Toothpaste: There are special toothpastes in the market, which specify that they have a special ingredient that whitens the teeth. It is not very effective, but it is cheap at a maximum of $5 to $10. It's applied the same as all other toothpastes, so scrub away!
Teeth Whitening Pen: These are literally like a pen - apply directly to teeth, much like nail polish. They are inexpensive but also the whitening isn't so obvious at close distance. It is said to be irritating and uncomfortable as well. Quick to apply and great for a night out though.
