Puebla: The Jewel of diversity

PUEBLA

Take a break from the routine of beach holidays and visit a city filled with a wealth of cultural history, a culinary marvel, and a context of diversity. So is it a place exist? Sure, and he was appointed Puebla!

Officially, the town is named Puebla de los Angeles (Puebla of the Angels). He came to be known by that name because of the legend that has led to its creation in 1531. It is often said that a group of angels tour of Bishop Julian Garces, the exact location the land where the city is now. He was in a dream where Garces saw a field between two rivers and through it. In this same dream, two angels defined the field as he was to build the city. As it happens, Garces (along with several others) were looking this place and he found! Moreover, the land was known as Cuetlazcoapan, which means "where the snake changes its skin," for indigenous peoples Aboriginal. Of course, if you do not believe in your captions should know that Puebla was also built out of necessity. Puebla is located exactly between Mexico City and Veracruz, where there were two vital cities for newly arrived Spaniards. Not only was built in Puebla because of a short trade route between Mexico City and Veracruz has been necessary, but because the Spaniards wanted a city away from the indigenous population. Nevertheless, the work forced indigenous "was imminent labor and building construction. Consequently, members of indigenous tribes, Tepeaca, Cholula, Huejotzingo and were allowed to settle on the outskirts of the city. With its location is central for trade, economy Puebla booming. It is important to mention that part of the transport and trade was made with China in the Philippines. Accordingly, Puebla adopted aspects of Chinese culture and to date, Puebla ceramic art reflects that.

Ever heard of Cinco de Mayo? Well, in 1861, then newly appointed indigenous Mexican President Benito Juarez, refused to pay a debt owed to Europe. Consequently, the year Next, three major European countries, France, Britain and Spain have sent delegates and troops. The failure of negotiations, a little, and England and Spain has promised to end their dispute. Meanwhile, conservative forces in Mexico have been affected by the new President, who was perceived as an enemy of the Catholic faith, was ordained 33rd degree Mason and received considerable support from the power Emerging Yankee North. The Conservatives argued that the Americans had annexed half of Mexico's land and were determined to overthrow political traditions of Mexico and impose a liberal democratic government. Democracy, they thought, was a mechanism for steering control Mexico by way of total control of public opinion, which would lead to economic ruin. Mexico conservative forces have been paranoid, and concluded that France is a monarchy, a Catholic country and Latin at the time a tour de force in the world, should include Mexico in this empire and protect against the United States of America. France agreed. France proceeded with the plan of care in Mexico and appointed him as the man of Lorencez to do the job. On the 5th of the year 1862, more than 6,000 French soldiers in May 2000 against Mexicans led by General Ignacio Zaragoza Seguin. As now know, Mexico was victorious and the battle came to be known as "La Batalla de Puebla" (Battle of Puebla) and "El Cinco de Mayo. In addition, because of this victory of the city was renamed Puebla de Zaragoza Heroica "or heroic Puebla of Zaragoza. Nevertheless, the French continued their advance and were able to establish a viceroy of the house of Habsburg, Mexico. This time, Mexico acquired French influences culture that persist to this day, such as mariachi music, the establishment of the now popular music from Sinaloa. In fact, many Mexicans today have French ancestry and surname descending from France.

After this event, the city has remained the same in terms of trade and prestige. The activity was so great that even branched into the textile industry, in fact, Puebla was the leader of this industry. Another result of Puebla continued economic success has been a contribution of European immigration and Eastern Europe. People came from all over Europe, y compris l'Italie, l'Espagne, l'Allemagne et la France. There were even people from migrating to Lebanon Puebla. The result of the population increasingly diversified Puebla can be seen today in the culinary delights of the city, streets, monuments, museums and other buildings. In fact, some people still maintain their original language! For example, a group of Italians settled in the outer parts of the city at the end of 16th century and to date they have kept their culture and language. Another group that has made its mark in the German city. They built their own neighborhood with typical construction found in South-East Germany. They not only created a Lutheran church, but also college, Colegio Aleman Alexander von Humboldt. In fact, the city of Puebla celebrates the renowned German holidaymakers, Oktober Fest. Thank you for such a diverse experience, Puebla cuisine is one of the most delicious worldwide. When you visit, you must enjoy the basic tradition of Puebla: El Mole Poblano. This can be described as turkey or chicken cooked with a sometimes special sauce thick dark chocolate, peppers, and many other spices. Another traditional delicacy is Chiles en nogada or peppers poblano stuffed with fruit and meat, then covered with a nut cream sauce and pomegranate. Arab tacos (Tacos Arabic) are made of seasoned roast beef pork or sometimes in a wheat tortilla. Maybe like a desert, you can try some camotes, which are like sweet potatoes or yams. And for drinks, you rompope should try some, which is an alcoholic beverage. Hmmm!

After a delicious meal, you'll want to explore the city. In Puebla it is so places to visit and things to see that I do not know where to start! Why not start with something of prehistory: La Gran Piramide de Cholula (The Great Pyramid of Cholula). The pyramid, built in the time before Christ, is larger than the pyramid of Giza in Egypt! It consists of a series of stacked trapezoids. What is even more incredible is that this pyramid was even a large number of underground tunnels! At the top of the pyramid you will find a church that was built after the orders of Hernan Cortez. It was used in the 16th century to convert the Aztecs to Christianity. The church is called La Iglesia de los Remedios Church or recourse.

Another interesting sight is a Poblana Fuente China the (Fountain of women, China Puebla). There is a fountain in memory of a legendary Indian woman who came to be known as the "Poblana China" or very weak results, "Women of China de Puebla." Legend has it that Mirrha, his birth name, was born in Delhi, India. She was kidnapped by pirates when she was nine. She was soon sold into slavery to a Portuguese merchant who later sent her to a man of Puebla (Don Miguel de Sosa) who had already asked a young Chinese slave. The "Chinese slave" was adopted by Sosa and his wife, who renamed her Catarina de San Juan. On the death of the couple, married Catarina Domingo Suarez, who was a Chinese official at a church Local. What caught the attention of the people of Puebla at the time were acts of kindness Catarina and charity efforts and of course, her attire. On the death of her husband, Catarina joined a convent and has advanced its charitable cause. Obviously, as you can see, it was not really Chinese, but rather, India, where the name is a little tongue in cheek pun in itself, to allude to the ignorance of previous centuries, when an Indian woman was taken to be Chinese.

Another place to visit is El Centro Civico 5 de Mayo. "This" civic center " consists of nine separate units on top of a hill, which oversees the city-wide. El Museo de la no intervención en el Fuerte de Loreto " "Museo de Antropologia (Museum of Anthropology)," Fort de Guadalupe, "" Expo Puebla (where the annual state fair is held) " Sala de Exhibiciones, El Planetario "(a planetarium)," Museo de Historia Natural de "(Museum of Natural History)," Plaza Toros El Relicario (arenas), and "Auditorio de la Reforma."

El Zocalo Puebla is another wonderful place to visit. This is an extensive park and on weekends, do not be surprised to find it filled with a variety of musicians and other artists keeping the crowd in awe. After obtaining your fun dose of entertainment, just across the street and visit the most beautiful church in Mexico, the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception (Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception). This cathedral has two identical towers that seem to touch the sky, it's amazing! If you wish to purchase, then go El Caledon Los Sapos of, or pathway of toads. The set-up is like a swap-meet, but unlike the traditional swap-meet, this place has antiques, typical restaurants of the region of origin and art, and you even find a few bars. If you want to enjoy a little nightlife in Puebla, includes live music, then come here on Friday and Saturday night. In fact, a local tavern selling liquor made from fruit, including one called "Pasitea" made from grapes. Another place for shopping is Mercado de Artesanías El Parian. Here you can find anything typical of Puebla, ceramics to textile art, and even candy. Puebla also has a first class zoo. Unlike most zoos, Africam Safari is a park where wild animals are released into a replica of their natural habitat, similar to the San Diego Wild Animal Park, so do not worry, you can see almost everything and personal safety of your vehicle strengthened.

One of the best parts of Puebla is the nearby attractions. For example, once El Zocalo as you visit all you have to do is keep walking north and you'll be surprised by the ten blocks of the following interesting sites. Right there in the Zocalo, you can see the municipal palace, which is an excellent example of the Spanish-French Renaissance architecture. After that, you can see the Museo Universitario, also known as Casa de los Muñeco or Doll House, built in the 1600s. This museum was built with red brick and handmade talavera tiles; Talavera is a type of white glazed ceramics used for vases, ornaments, etc.. Special cartoons are painted on the tiles, and it which gives the museum the name House of Dolls. Following is the Iglesia del Espiritu Santo, where the local folk hero, China Poblana, is buried. This church was built in 1578 and inside, you can enjoy the style and the Muslim Ibero-Italian front. Another institution, you can not miss is Palafoxiana Library-Casa de la Cultura. This place, built in 1646, is often host to many cultural events. The second story is that which houses the library and that you must see to believe. It houses more than fifty thousand books neatly arranged on shelves carved cedar wood; the floors are decorated with a single red tile, and wait a bit to see the desktop. The offices are embedded with onyx! After this miracle, you will soon you'll be presented with a Greco-Roman style of the oldest house in Puebla is known as Casa del Dean. Inside you can watch longer still incredible murals that remained invisible until their discovery in 1930. Onyx seemed to be very popular in the churches of Puebla to Some of these include Iglesia de San Cristobal and Iglesia de Santo Domingo-Capilla del Rosario function inlaid onyx or onyx covered with decorations. If you are an admirer of art religious, you must visit the Ex-Convento de Santa Monica (ex or former convent of St. Monica), who used to be a monastery hidden and you must cross a house and a room for access. Of particular interest is the view of an image of Jesus Christ on the horse or its crucifixion can be seen inside the Temple of Santa Monica.

Finally, we can not mention that Puebla is surrounded by three volcanoes best known, with the indigenous people following names: Popocatepetl, Matlacueyatl (also known as La Malinche), and Iztaccihuatl. Do not be alarm suddenly see a light breeze of ashes. But more soothing is the thought of summer rain fresh because they are very common here. The light dress, Pack a sweater, wear comfortable shoes and do not forget your umbrella! But before you pack, the first to see www.patawalk.com!
