How do I get the tempur paint on my fingers / nails? soap and water are not working.?
I volunteered to daughter my pre-school today and artistic activity involved tempur sweetened black paint. (Painting mood?) Anyway ... there was a spill (imagine a room full of 4 and 5 years ago), not only were the rags covered with black paint, so were my hands. majority of it came with soap and water, but there are still some under my fingernails and on the edges. I used a nail brush, but it still looks like my nails are just dirty. if it was a bright color, I would not be so persnickity about it ... I mean, bright green or blue, people will look and realize that it is painting, but with him being black, it looks like i do not wash. any ideas?
Hand Sanitizer and your nail brush will do wonders. Rubbing alcohol is very hard for most pigments - gouache included - from almost nothing and disinfectant Hand gel is largely rubbing alcohol. If you do not have hand sanitizer, use plain old rubbing alcohol. Wipe with disinfectant or alcohol in your area, nail caught a minute, then add a little more (yes, make sure you're in a place well ventilated, please) and it works well with the brush. Then you'll need soap and water to flush with the key. Plain water do not mix with the hand sanitizer or alcohol, but the soap making mix well. Speaking of soap, you might suggest to the teacher it mixes a bit of soap (Ivory liquid is best, but dish soap works, too) with tempera paint next time. It honestly cleaning easier tonnes. The next time you work with paint or liquid inks, scratch your fingernails over a bar of soap first. It feels a bit funny, yes, but it makes cleaning under them later a breeze. Nothing sticks.
