Review: Heavy Rain - Pay Attention in this game or you'll pay
Heavy Rain is a dramatic thriller from Quantic Dream, available exclusively for the PlayStation 3. The game, presented in a dark, immersive environment, focuses on the influence of players and complex narrative.
Platform: PS3
Publisher: Sony
Genre: Adventure
ESRB Rating: Mature
Release Date: 23/02/2010
Gameplay: 10.0 / 10.0
Heavy Rain in the game is very unique and very addictive, with what is essentially a mix of action sequences and storytelling, free-form. In Heavy Rain, there is no way to "lose" or be conquered. Instead, the game focuses on the choices you make and actions you take. Independently what happens, good or bad, the story goes, if the result can be very different depending on whether you fail or succeed in a given task. When you play heavy rain, you will have a strong feeling that you are a direct influence on the onscreen action while acting primarily as observer. Think of it like watching a thriller movie that you can handle.
Graphics: 8.0 / 10.0
Overall, the graphics in Heavy Rain is excellent. The faces are detailed and the general atmosphere of the game is compelling and lends itself well to the story. There are some defects, however: lip sync can sometimes be a bit slow, some of the set pieces are not as detailed as you might like and the polish is not quite at a game like Uncharted 2, currently the gold standard for graphics PS3.
Story: 9.5 / 10.0
Many game developers come with some elements of the story after the fact, simply an excuse to present challenges and action sequences. Heavy Rain use the opposite philosophy, but Heavy Rain is tied to the story of several characters involved entanglement in the plots. As a player, you have the possibility to influence the outcome of the story by choosing what you say to other characters and what kinds of actions you take. Heavy Rain is so focused on the story he does not even have a system of continuous monitoring, but the controls change depending on what the elements of the current call history '. Although the first two hours of play are fairly slow, things get very intense quickly and the feeling is similar to watching the second half of a film by Martin Scorsese.

Music: 8.0 / 10.0
Profile of Heavy Rain is very appropriate, and often disappears into the background, for sweetness enhancer mood without being too obtrusive. Dialog is excellent and enhances the realism of the game, although it may be a rare opportunity to hear a French voice actor posing as an American. Overall, the voice acting, music and sound design are generally well above average.
Replay Value: 9.0 / 10.0
Heavy Rain has four main playable characters. During the game, these players may survive or die, the shape of relationships both good and bad, and generally behave in a manner that you could not predict when the game starts. Your actions will accumulate and lead to very different endings. These kinds of things add up a single-player game is incredibly fun to play, as long as you have patience and appreciated the style of the game the first time.
Overall score: 8.7 / 10.0
Heavy Rain is an experience that players will not want to miss. Although you may be tempted to doze during the first two hours game, just remember that the first parts of the narrative to create a basis for the rest of the story. The whole experience feels very polished, and all players looking for a new thrill will be happy.
