Paro Dzongkhag 1

Welcome to an enchanting Paro valley with an altitude of 2280 meters. The valley of Paro contains a wealth of attractions and requires some days to be properly investigated. 2 Thimphu, Bhutan's capital

Punakha Dzongkhag 3:   

Punakha Dzongkhag is located at an altitude of 1300 meters. Pungthang Phodrang Dechen was founded in 1637 by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyel and is renowned for its historical significance. It was in Punakha, the first hereditary monarch, King Ugyen Wangchuck, was enthroned December 17, 1907. Punakha served as capital of Bhutan till 1955 and Punakha Dzong still the winter residence of the Central Monk Body.

Other interesting places for visitors are Chhim Lhakhang (temple of fertility) built on a spectacular site in 1499 by Drukpa Kuenley (Divine Madman). A wooden effigy of the lama thunderbolt is preserved in the monastery, which is supposed to have some spiritual power to restore fertility to childless women. Gasa Dzongkhag 4   

Gasa is on the ancient trade route to the Tibet with an elevation ranging from 1500 meters to 4500 meters above sea level in the extreme north-west. The climate ranges from temperate Gasa Alpine to extremely cold winters and the summer short and pleasant. Rainfall is rare and virtually no rain in winter in the upper region. However, there is heavy snowfall in the upper region. Zhadrung Rinpoche Tashi Thongmoen Dzong built in 1646 after his victories over the Tibetans.

The main source of income for people is a port of the local and tourist. Sale / barter of livestock products are another source of income for northern residents and Lunana Laya. The people of Gasa usually speak Dzongkha with distinctive accents. However, Layaps Lunaps and have their own local dialect, in addition to Dzongkha. Layaps Lunaps and especially lead a half-life of transhumant the family of each household spends yaks and sheep breeding life. 5 Wangdiphodrang Dzongkhag   

Wangdue Phodrang is the last town on the highway before entering central Bhutan with an elevation 1350 meters above sea level. Zhadrung Rimpoche built Wangdue Phodrang Dzong in 1638. He served as the capital of Bhutan in controlling the east-west and the southern route at the time of the Zhabdrung.

Other spaces for visitors are from the 17th century Nagtshang Radak, The temple town is dedicated to an ancient warlord and acclimatization in the village of Richengang. Phobjekha Valley in the Dzongkhag is famous as a nesting Winter Black-necked Crane Institute Buddhist Gangtey Goenpa. Haa Dzongkhag 6  

Haa Dzongkhag is located along the banks of the river Haa ² to 2670 altitude. Wangchulo Dzong was built in 1915. Potatoes are the main cash crop for the Dzongkhag while apples and vegetables are also grown. Farming is an economic factor activity in the Dzongkhag with most of the northern regions as a function of livestock as their main source of income.

Places for visitors Chhundo Lhakhang, one of the many dedicated to the patron deity of Haa Yangthang Goenpa., Jamtoey Goenpa and Juneydra meditation place of Guru Rimpoche in the 8th century. Lhakhang Karpo & Lhakhang Nagpo currently over 250 monks for the regions Haa.

7 Chukha Dzongkhag   

Chhukha Dzongkhag was established in April 1987, coinciding with the beginning of the sixth plan. The Dzongkhag has 3291 households. Chukha is the main entry points for imports and commercial center. large hydroelectric plants, which are a source of national income, are also located in Chukha Dzongkhag. Places for visitors are Wangchu Zangdo Pelri Chukha and Tala Hydro and Hydro Power Project. Kharbanda Goenpa built in 1967 and Zangdo Pelri Phuntsholing in town is a replica the heavenly paradise of Guru Rimpoche.

8 Samtse Dzongkhag   

Samtse Dzongkhag has an area of approximately 1582 km square with an elevation ranging from 600 to 3800 m above sea level with 6128 households. Most of the sub-regions are located at the foot of the bordering Indian state of West Bengal and Sikkim. Proximity to markets in India offer an excellent opportunity to develop horticulture commercial scale. Mandarin, cardamom, ginger and areca nut are largely grown for cash income. favorable terrain, land fertile agricultural contributes significantly to agricultural productivity in the foot. Although largely rainfed rice and other cereal and yields are high. Gewog in the northern part of the Dzongkhag are relatively poor and underdeveloped. Samtse is far from the Southwest and is closed to tourists.
