How can I get this adhesive vinyl tiles on the floor?

We have learned our carpets in the basement floor to reveal unpleasant old vinyl ... Today we managed to scrape the vinyl tiles, but can not get the sticky tape off. The floor concrete is below so that we were kind of thinking that painting the floor (we have done in another room in the basement and it worked well) Are there any useful tools / cleaners to get the glue as easily as possible? and if we can not get it completely out, would we still be able to paint?

I wish I could give you some good news, but when I did the same with my old tiles kitchen, I tried without success, but as I put down the new ones that did not stop my project. Maybe some type of thinner paint or acetone, etc., could do the job, but it will be hard work, get rid of the glue. If you can, try some place, and see if you can paint it. Then see if the paint covers the adhesive in place, so it is not sticky. Good luck.
