2 Easy Starcraft 2 Terran Tactics Anyone Can Do To Crush Their Enemies

As a Terran player, you have a boat load of strategies and tactics that you can use to your advantage in any game in Starcraft 2. Here's 2 easy tactics that anyone can do no matter your skill to win more games and keep your opponent's intimidated. Master these and you'll be on your way to more victories and a higher ladder rank.

Terran Tactic #1: The Hellion Drop

You probably already know that hellions do an extreme amount of damage to light units, especially if the targets are close together. Hellions will do splash damage in a straight line, and a group of 3 hellions can kill a worker unit (probe, drone, or SCV) with just 1 shot each. Getting the infernal pre-igniter upgrade at the tech lab makes them kill things much faster.

This tactic works best mid game, especially if your opponent has map control and their army is in the middle of the map. Load up four hellions into a medivac and send it over to your opponent's base. Unload the hellions and start attacking his worker line. 4 hellions can kill a lot of workers in just seconds, and by the time your opponent responds you will have already really hurt his economy.

But don't stop there. As soon as opposing forces get close, load back up into the medivac and fly to an expansion nearby. Keep those units alive as long as possible and you will cause your opponent to think twice about coming out of his base and attacking you.

Terran Tactic #2: High Ground Siege Tanks

This tactic uses the same theory as the hellion drop, but you won't be attacking the mineral line only. Load up a medivac or two with siege tanks, and unload them at some high ground near your opponent's base. This tactic works especially good on maps like Lost Temple and Kulas Ravine.

If you keep them back just a bit their huge range will allow them to shell units that get close, without being able to get hit. If you set some tanks up near your opponent's expansion, he will likely lose it if he doesn't react fast enough with some air units or drops of his own.

Even better is if he tries to take out your tanks with his ranged units such as hydralisks or stalkers. Siege tanks do some extreme damage and will likely take out many more resources worth of units than they cost if you place them right.

This tactic can really get your opponent to worry about any high ground and give you the psychological and unit advantage to take the win.
