Traditional Martial Arts Teaches trust through First Failure
The purpose of traditional martial arts training is to contribute to a successful person more confidence. Confidence is gained through experience. Nothing gives the confidence of a person over personal experience. As the saying goes, "Experience is the best teacher."

A good arts program traditional martial challenges students by providing barriers to help them overcome. When a student encounters an obstacle, they must make a choice, allow the barrier to stop or break the barrier.
On the other side of the obstacle (or fear) is their confidence, just wait for them. He is sitting there waiting to happen and say it.
When a person falls and stays down, they gave up. When a person falls, but doing things back up and tries again, they learn and grow, they develop their confidence.

Facing your fears is the only way to deal with them in a healthy way. You do not need medication for anxiety. You need experience. The experience you learn that your irrational fears are not as bad as you've imagined. Fear is an acronym for "pretexting real evidence."
