Dental Care Tips to take care of your Teeth
Bleeding gums is common for the millions of Americans who are experiencing gum problems. Amongst these gum problems are gingivitis and periodontal disease. Most of the time, it is the result of the improper removal of plaques in the gum line. There are some other serious medical conditions associated with the gums bleeding such as diabetes, leukemia, platelet disorders, heart disease and pancreatic cancer.

Dental Care Tips
Brushing Tips
1. Use a soft bristled brush, preferably one with rounded, synthetic bristles. Look for the American Dental Association seal of approval. Replace your toothbrush approximately every two to three months or as soon as the bristles are worn or bent. A worn-out toothbrush does not clean your teeth properly, and may actually injure your gums. You should also replace your toothbrush after you've had a cold.
2. Be sure your brush is the right size (in general, smaller is better than larger).
3. Place the bristles at a 45 degree angle to the gum line, and slide the tips of the brush under the gums.
4. Gently jiggle the bristles or move it in small circles over the tooth and gums.
5. Brush the outside, the inside, and the chewing surfaces of your teeth. For chewing surfaces, use a light back and forth motion.
6. For the front teeth, brush the inside surfaces of the upper and lower jaws: Tilt your brush vertically and make several strokes up and down with the front part of the brush over the teeth and gum tissues.
7. Brushing your tongue will help freshen your breath. Debris and bacteria can collect on your tongue and cause bad breath.
8. Since your toothbrush will only clean one or two teeth at a time, change its position to clean each tooth properly.
Flossing Tips
1. Wrap about 18 inches of floss around the middle fingers of your hands.
2. Hold the floss tightly, using your thumbs and forefingers, and gently guide it between your teeth. Don't "snap" the floss as this can cut the gums!
3. When the floss reaches the gumline, curve it into a C-shape against one tooth and gently slide it into the space between the gum and the tooth until you feel pressure against the tooth.
4. Gently scrape the side of the tooth with the floss.
5. Repeat this method on all your teeth.
6. Move to a clean area of floss after one or two teeth.
Do:
1. Brush your teeth twice daily.
2. Use a good toothbrush that's gentle to your gums.
3. Visit a dentist once in two months and get your precious teeth an expert's advice.
4. Not all people have similar arrangement of teeth, so instead of copying one's style of brushing the teeth, ask your dentist for the correct technique.
Golden Rules for Healthy Teeth
1. Eat food which is wealthy in vitamins and minerals.
2. Keep away from sweet and sticky food, because it causes cavity.
3. Brush two times daily and frequently.
4. Employ good quality tooth brush and tooth paste.
5. Ask your dentist two times a year.
