How can you break the advice of those yellow box cutters?

I have a yellow knife that you can break off the tip of because it wears out, supposedly. But the metal is hard and I'm afraid if I try to cut me breaking the worn part with my fingers ... Is there some kind of trick to this?

It is a trick. At the other end of the blade, remove the cap. You will see a slot in the end, and that the blade to adjust. Then you can quickly detach the blade without touching the blade. I usually turn my face away, just in case the broken blade flying towards me, if this is not arrived.
